(More customer reviews)I do not have a 38" waist, but this wrap is still too small. I ran 32" for many years, and over the course of the last several I have gone up to between 34" and 36". This wrap is extremely tight. It works like a weight belt, where you have velcro to secure it around your waist and velcro straps on each side that allow you to tighten it.
This item runs very small, so you should probably order a large and use the side velcro straps to tighten if necessary. If you are a thin high school kid with a 32" waist or less, you should be able to get away with this size.
